REPORT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF RECONFIGURATION OF THE NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCKPILE.
SEC. 1413. REPORT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF RECONFIGURATION OF THE NATIONAL DEFENSE STOCKPILE.(a) Report Required.—Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Defense shall submit to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives a report on any actions the Secretary plans to take in response to the recommendations contained in the report entitled “Reconfiguration of the National Defense Stockpile Report to Congress” dated April 2009 and submitted by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, as required by House Report 109–89, House Report 109–452, and Senate Report 110–115.123 STAT. 2563(b) Contents of Report.— The report required by subsection (a) shall include the Secretary’s recommendations for changes, based on the findings of the April 2009 report, to statutes, regulations, and policies, which the Secretary determines are necessary to enable the implementation of the recommendations contained in the April 2009 report or to improve Federal Government management of the National Defense Stockpile in the interest of the National Security Strategy.(c) Congressional Notification.—The Secretary may not take any action regarding the implementation of any initiative recommended in the report required by subsection (a) until 45 days after the Secretary submits to the Committees on Armed Services of the Senate and House of Representatives such report.
