SENSE OF CONGRESS ON ENSURING JOINT BASING RECOMMENDATIONS DO NOT ADVERSELY AFFECT OPERATIONAL READINESS.
SEC. 2713. SENSE OF CONGRESS ON ENSURING JOINT BASING RECOMMENDATIONS DO NOT ADVERSELY AFFECT OPERATIONAL READINESS. It is the sense of Congress that, in implementing the joint basing recommendations of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission contained in the report of the Commission transmitted to Congress on September 15, 2005, under section 2903(e) of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment Act of 1990 (part 123 STAT. 2656 A of title XXIX of Public Law 101–510; 10 U.S.C. 2687 note), the Secretary of Defense should ensure that the joint basing of military installations at any of the recommended locations does not adversely impact—(1) the ability of commanders, and the units of the Armed Forces under their command, to perform their operational missions;(2) the command and control of commanders at each military installation that has an operational mission requirement; and(3) the readiness of the units of the Armed Forces under their command.
