SEC. 504. EXCEPTION TO REQUIRED RETIREMENT AFTER 30 YEARS OF SERVICE FOR REGULAR NAVY WARRANT OFFICERS IN THE GRADE OF CHIEF WARRANT OFFICER, W–5. Section 1305(a) of title 10, United States Code, is amended—(1) in paragraph (1)—(A) by striking “A regular warrant officer (other than a regular Army warrant officer)” and inserting “Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), a regular warrant officer”; and(B) by striking “he” and inserting “the officer”; and(2) by adding at the end the following new paragraph:“(3) In the case of a regular Navy warrant officer in the grade of chief warrant officer, W–5, the officer shall be retired 60 days after the date on which the officer completes 33 years of total active service.”.
