SEC. 1212. ADDITIONAL SUPPORT FOR COUNTER-DRUG ACTIVITIESAt the request of the head of a Federal agency with counter-drug responsibilities, the Secretary of Defense during fiscal year 1990 may provide support for the counter-drug activities of that agency as follows: (1) Maintenance and repair of equipment that has been made available by the Department of Defense under chapter 18 of title 10, United States Code, in order to preserve the potential future utility of such equipment to the Department of Defense. (2) Transportation of personnel, supplies, and equipment for purposes of facilitating a counter-drug operation. (3) Establishment and operation of a base of operations for purposes of facilitating a counter-drug operation. (4) Loan of National Guard equipment, subject to such minimum standards of care and maintenance and such minimum training and proficiency requirements for persons who are to use such equipment as the Secretary considers appropriate. (5) Training of personnel.
