SEC. 530. CONVERSION OF HIGH-DEPLOYMENT ALLOWANCE FROM MANDATORY TO AUTHORIZED.(a) Conversion.—Section 436(a) of title 37, United States Code, is amended by striking “shall pay” and inserting “may pay”.(b) Effective Date.—The amendment made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the first day of the first month beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.
