EXTENSION OF COMMISSION ON INTERSTATE CHILD SUPPORT.
SEC. 5012. EXTENSION OF COMMISSION ON INTERSTATE CHILD SUPPORT. (a) Reauthorization.—Section 126 of the Family Support Act of 1988 (42 U.S.C. 666 note; Public Law 100–485) is amended— (1) in subsection (d)— (A) in paragraph (1), by striking “1990” and inserting “1991”; and (B) in paragraph (2), by striking “1991” and inserting “1992”; (2) in subsection (e), by adding at the end the following: “(5) (A) Individuals may be appointed to serve the Commission without regard to the provisions of title 5 that govern appointments in the competitive service, without regard to the competitive service, and without regard to the classification system in chapter 53 of title 5, United States Code. The chairman of the Commission may fix the compensation of the Executive Director at a rate that shall not exceed the maximum rate of the basic pay payable under GS-18 of the General Schedule as contained in title 5, United States Code. “(B) The Executive Director may appoint and fix the compensation of such additional personnel as the Executive Director considers necessary to carry out the duties of the Commission. Such personnel may be appointed without regard to the provisions of title 5, United States Code, governing appointments in the competitive service, and may be paid without regard to the provisions of chapter 51 and subchapter III of chapter 53 of such title relating to classification and General Schedule pay rates. “(C) On the request of the chairman, the head of any Federal department or agency may detail, on a reimbursable basis, any of the personnel of such agency to the Commission to assist the Commission in carrying out its duties under this section without regard to section 3341 of title 5, United States Code.”; and (3) in subsection (f)(D, by striking “1991” and inserting “1992”. (b) Effective Date.—The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on the date of the enactment of this Act.
