DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY USER FEE STUDY.
SEC. 10203. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY USER FEE STUDY. The Secretary of Energy shall undertake a study of the Department of Energy’s user fee assessment and collection practices, and shall make recommendations on ways to— (1) reasonably increase revenues to the United States through user fees, consistent with the mission of the Department; and (2) improve user fee collection practices. The Secretary of Energy shall submit a report containing such findings and recommendations to the Congress within 6 months after the date of enactment of this Act. There are authorized to be appropriated to the Secretary of Energy for carrying out this section not to exceed $500,000 for fiscal year 1991, from funds otherwise available to the Department of Energy.
