PRESERVATION OF FORCE STRUCTURE IN THE RESERVE COMPONENTS

SEC. 1435. PRESERVATION OF FORCE STRUCTURE IN THE RESERVE COMPONENTS (a) In General.— The Secretary of Defense shall ensure that the force structure of the Selected Reserve of the reserve components of the Armed Forces during fiscal year 1991 is equivalent to the force structure of those components on January 1, 1990. (b) Authority To Change Force Structure.— The Secretary may make changes in the force structure of the Selected Reserve of the reserve components only to the extent that the Secretary determines that such changes enhance the capability of reserve units in the interests of national security.
