Sec. 166. (a) The remaining unobligated balances, as of September 30, 2023, from amounts made available to the Department 136 STAT. 5131 of Transportation in section 422 under title IV of division L of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 (Public Law 117–103) are hereby rescinded, and an amount of additional new budget authority equivalent to the amount rescinded is hereby appropriated on September 30, 2023, for an additional amount for fiscal year 2023, to remain available until September 30, 2025, and shall be available for the same purposes and under the same authorities for which such amounts were originally provided in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019 (Public Law 116–6). (b) The remaining unobligated balances, as of September 30, 2023, from amounts made available to the Department of Transportation under the heading “Federal Transit Administration—Capital Investment Grants” in division H of the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2020 (Public Law 116–94) are hereby rescinded, and an amount of additional new budget authority equivalent to the amount rescinded is hereby appropriated on September 30, 2023, for an additional amount for fiscal year 2023, to remain available until September 30, 2025, and shall be available for the same purposes and under the same authorities for which such amounts were originally provided in Public Law 116–94.
