SEC. 704. UNITED STATES PARTICIPATION IN THE UNITED NATIONS IF ISRAEL IS ILLEGALLY EXPELLED. (a) General Rule.— The first sentence of section 115(b) of the Department of State Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1984 and 1985 101 STAT. 1390is amended to read as follows: “If Israel is illegally expelled, suspended, denied its credentials, or in any other manner denied its right to participate in any principal or subsidiary organ or in any specialized, technical, or other agency of the United Nations, the United States shall suspend its participation in any such organ or agency until the illegal action is reversed.”. (b) Rule of Construction.— Such section is further amended by adding at the end thereof the following: “Nothing in this section may be construed to diminish or to affect United States participation in the United Nations Security Council or the Safeguards Program of the International Atomic Energy Agency.”.
