Sec. 606. The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Department of Justice, hereafter is authorized without regard to section 505 of the Classification Act of 1949 to place two positions in grade GS–18, and seven positions in grade GS–17, in the General Schedule established by the Classification Act of 1949, and such positions shall be in lieu of any positions in the Federal Bureau of Investigation previously allocated under section 505. The compensation of the Associate Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation hereafter shall be $17, 500 per annum. 65 Stat. 601 The Secretary of State hereafter is authorized without regard to section 505 of the Classification Act of 1949 to place the position of Director, Office of Budget and Finance in grade GS–17 in the General Schedule established by the Classification Act of 1949 so long as the position is held by the present incumbent. The Secretary of Commerce hereafter is authorized without regard to section 505 of the Classification Act of 1949 to place the position of Director, Office of Budget and Management in grade GS–17 in the General Schedule established by the Classification Act of 1949 so long as the position is held by the present incumbent.
