Sec. 707. Unless discharged from his appointment or enlistment as a Reserve officer or Reserve enlisted member, respectively, whenever a member of the National Guard of the United States or of the Air National Guard of the United States ceases to hold a status as a federally recognized member of the National Guard or of the Air National Guard of any State, Territory, or the District of Columbia, he becomes a member of the Army Reserve or of the Air Force Reserve and erases to be a member of the National Guard of the United States or of the Air National Guard of the United States.
