SEC. 1617. MINIMIZATION OF CONFLICTS OF INTEREST OF EMPLOYEES OF COLLEGES RECEIVING FUNDS UNDER THE SMITH-LEVER ACT. Section 4 of the Act of May 8, 1914 (commonly known as the Smith-Lever Act) (7 U.S.C. 344), is amended by inserting after the second sentence the following: “The Secretary shall ensure that each college seeking to receive funds under this Act has in place appropriate guidelines, as determined by the Secretary, to minimize actual or potential conflicts of interest among employees of such college whose salaries are funded in whole or in part with such funds.”.
