TARIFF COMMISSION Salaries and expenses: For necessary expenses of the Tariff Commission, including subscriptions to newspapers (not to exceed $200), not to exceed $13,500 for expenses of travel, and contract stenographic reporting services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U. S. C. 55a), $1,291,375: Provided, That no part of this Appropriation shall be used to pay the salary of any member of the Tariff Commission who shall hereafter participate in any proceedings under sections 336, 337, and 338 of the Tariff Act of 193b, wherein he or any member of his family has any special, direct, and pecuniary interest, or in which he has acted as attorney or special representative.
