SEC. 2382. MONITORING THE ECONOMIC PROGRESS OF RURAL AMERICA. (a) Bureau of the Census.— The Director of the Bureau of the Census shall expand the data collection efforts of the Bureau to enable the Bureau to collect statistically significant data concerning the changing economic condition of rural counties and communities in the United States, including data on rural employment, poverty, income, and other information concerning the rural labor force. (b) Limitation on Authorization of Appropriations.— To carry out subsection (a), there are authorized to be appropriated $1,000,000 for each fiscal year.
