NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR AERONAUTICS Salaries and expenses: For necessary expenses of the Committee, including one Director at not to exceed $17,500 per annum so long as the position is held by the present incumbent; contracts for the making of special investigations and reports and for engineering, drafting and computing services; equipment; not to exceed $310,000 for expenses of travel; maintenance and operation of aircraft; purchase of two passenger motor vehicles for replacement only; not to exceed $100 for newspapers and periodicals; and services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U. S. C. 55a); $51,000,000, together with not to exceed $1,000,000 of the unobligated balance of funds appropriated for this purpose in the “First Independent Offices Appropriation Act, 1954”. Construction and equipment: For construction and equipment at laboratories and research stations of the Committee, $4,620,000, to remain available until expended.
