SEC. 2408. THE FOREST AND RANGELAND RENEWABLE RESOURCES PLANNING ACT OF 1974. (a) Renewable Resource Assessment.— Section 3(a) of the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act of 1974 (16 U.S.C. 1601(a)) is amended— (1) in paragraph (3), by striking “and” at the end thereof; (2) in paragraph (4), by striking the period and inserting “; and”; and (3) by adding at the end thereof the following new paragraphs: “(5) an analysis of the potential effects of global climate change on the condition of renewable resources on the forests and rangelands of the United States; and “(6) an analysis of the rural and urban forestry opportunities to mitigate the buildup of atmospheric carbon dioxide and reduce the risk of global climate change,”. (b) Renewable Resource Program.— Section 4 of such Act (16 U.S.C. 1602) is amended in paragraph (5)— (1) by striking “and” at the end of subparagraph (D); (2) by striking the period at the end of subparagraph (E) and inserting “; and”; and (3) by adding at the end thereof the following new subparagraph: “(F) account for the effects of global climate change on forest and rangeland conditions, including potential effects on the geographic ranges of species, and on forest and rangeland products.”.
