§ 3209. Regular Army: commissioned officers on active list; other branches; Women’s Army Corps (a) Except for the Army Nurse Corps and the Women’s Medical Specialist Corps, the authorized strength of each branch in commissioned officers on the active list of the Regular Army is that prescribed by the Secretary of the Army. However, the strength so prescribed— (1) for the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, may not be less than 15/1,000 of the authorized strength of the Regular Army in commissioned officers on the active list; and (2) for the Corps of Engineers, may not be less than 788. (b) The authorized strength of the Women’s Army Corps in commissioned officers on the active list of the Regular Army is that prescribed by the Secretary. However, the strength so prescribed may not be more than 2 percent of the authorized strength of the Regular Army in commissioned officers on the active list.
