§ 5033. Under Secretary of the Navy: appointment; duties; compensation (a) There is an Under Secretary of the Navy, appointed from civil life by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. (b) The Under Secretary shall perform such duties as the Secretary of the Navy prescribes. (c) The compensation of the Under Secretary is that prescribed by law for assistant secretaries of executive departments.
