Under Secretary of the Air Force; Assistant Secretaries of the Air Force

§ 8013. Under Secretary of the Air Force; Assistant Secretaries of the Air Force (a) There are an Under Secretary of the Air Force and four Assistant Secretaries of the Air Force in the Department of the Air Force. The Under Secretary and the Assistant Secretaries shall be appointed from civilian life by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Secretary of the Air Force shall designate one Assistant Secretary as Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management. He may also designate that Assistant Secretary as Comptroller of the Air Force. (b) The compensation of the Under Secretary and of the Assistant Secretaries is that prescribed by law for assistant secretaries of executive departments.
