Office of Alien Property salaries and expenses The Attorney General, or such officer as he may designate, is hereby authorized to pay out of any funds or other property or interest vested in him or transferred to him pursuant to or with respect to the Trading With the Enemy Act of October 6, 1917, as amended (50 U. S. C. App.), necessary expenses incurred in carrying out the powers and duties conferred on the Attorney General pursuant to said Act: Provided, That not to exceed $2,800,000 shall be available in the current fiscal year for the[illegible]neral administrative expenses of the Office of Alien Property, in[illegible]ing rent of private or Government-owned space in the District of Columbia; and expenses of attendance at meet-69 Stat. 274ings of organizations concerned with the purposes of this authorization: Provided further, That on or before November 1 of the current fiscal year, the Attorney General shall make a report to the Appropriations Committees of the Senate and the House of Representatives giving detailed information on all administrative and nonadministrative expenses incurred during the next preceding fiscal year in connection with the activities of the Office of Alien Property: Provided further, That of the total amount herein authorized the amount of $100,000 is to be transferred to the appropriation for “Salaries and expenses, general administration”, Justice.
