Sec. 116. Section 3 of the Act of January 3, 1946, as amended (38 U. S. C. 15b), is hereby amended as follows: (a) The last sentence of section 3 (b) is amended to read: “During the period of his service as such, the Chief Medical Director shall be paid a salary of $17,800 a year.” (b) The last sentence of section 3 (c) is amended to read: “During the period of his service as such, the Deputy Chief Medical Director shall be paid a salary of $16,800 a year.” (c) That portion of section 3 (d) which precedes the proviso is amended to read: “Each Assistant Chief Medical Director shall be appointed by the Administrator upon the recommendation of the Chief Medical Director and shall be paid a salary of $15,800.”
