SEC. 601. MAINTAINING FUNDING FOR STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. (a) Section 504(a)(1) of part E of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, as amended by section 211 of the Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 1990 (Public Law 101–162), is amended by striking “1990” and inserting in lieu thereof “1991”. (b) Improving the Effectiveness of Court Process.— Paragraph (10) of section 501 of part D of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 is amended to read as follows: “(10) improving the operational effectiveness of the court process, by expanding prosecutorial, defender and judicial resources, and implementing court delay reduction programs;”.
