SEC. 1404. ENVIRONMENTAL CRIMES AS MONEY LAUNDERING PREDICATES. (a) Section 1956(c)(7) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by— (1) striking “or” before “(D)”; and (2) inserting or” and the following before the period: “environmental crimes “(E) a felony violation of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1251 et seq.), the Ocean Dumping Act (33 U.S.C. 1401 et seq.), the Act to Prevent Pollution from Ships (33 U.S.C. 1901 et seq.), the Safe Drinking Water Act (42 U.S.C. 300f et seq.), or the Resources Conservation and Recovery Act (42 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.)”. (b) Section 1956(e) of title 18, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following sentence: “Violations of this section involving offenses described in paragraph (c)(7)(E) may be investigated by such components of the Department of Justice as the Attorney General may direct, and the National Enforcement Investigations Center of the Evironmental Protection Agency.
