SEC. 3501. MODIFICATION OF APPROVAL REQUIREMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT SENTENCE APPEALS. Section 3742(b) of title 18, United States Code, is amended— (1) by striking “, with the personal approval of the Attorney General or the Solicitor General”; and (2) by adding at the end the following: “The Government may not further prosecute such appeal without the personal approval of the Attorney General, the Solicitor General, or a deputy solicitor general designated by the Solicitor General.”.
