INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION
INTERSTATE COMMERCE COMMISSION Salaries and Expenses For necessary expenses of the Interstate Commerce Commission, including not to exceed $5,000 for the employment of special counsel; services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a), at rates not to exceed $50 per diem for individuals; newspapers (not to exceed $300); and purchase of not to exceed thirty-five passenger motor vehicles of which nineteen shall be for replacement only; $19,650,000, of which not less than $1,529,650 shall be available for expenses necessary to carry out railroad safety activities and not less than $1,054,550 shall be available for expenses necessary to carry out locomotive inspection activities: Provided, That Joint Board members and cooperating State commissioners may use Government transportation requests when traveling in connection with their duties as such.
