low-cost housing in outlying areas Sec. 103. Section 203(i) of the National Housing Act is amended— (1) by striking out “$8,000” and inserting in lieu thereof “$9,000”; (2) by inserting after “97 per centum” the following: “(or, in any case where the dwelling is not approved for mortgage 73 Stat. 655insurance prior to the beginning of construction, unless the construction of the dwelling was completed more than one year prior to the application tor mortgage insurance or the dwelling was approved for guaranty, insurance, or direct loan under chapter 37 of title 38, United States Code, prior to the beginning of construction, 90 per centum)”; (3) by striking out “, and which is approved for mortgage insurance prior to the beginning of construction” and “the construction of”; and • (4) by striking out the comma following the word “highway” and everything that follows and inserting a period in lieu thereof.
