control of tuberculosis To carry out the purposes of section 314(b) of the Act, $6,430,000, of which not less than $4,000,000 shall be available only for grants to States, to be matched by an equal amount of State and local funds expended for the same purpose, for direct expenses of prevention and case-finding projects including salaries, fees, and travel of personnel directly engaged in prevention and case finding and the necessary equipment and supplies used directly in prevention and casefinding operations, but excluding the purchase of care in hospitals and sanatoriums.
