National Capital Transportation Agency salaries and expenses For expenses necessary to carry out the provisions of title II of the Act of July 14, 1960 ( 74 Stat. 537), including payment in advance for membership in societies whose publications or services are available to members only or to members at a price lower than to the general public; hire of passenger motor vehicles; and uniforms or allowances therefor, as authorized by law (5 U.S.C. 2131); $3,000,000. land acquisition and construction For necessary expenses for the National Capital Transportation Agency for acquisition of land for extra-wide median strips, or interests therein, and for incidental construction, for transit facilities, as authorized by law, $400,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That such land purchases shall be subject to the advance approval of the Director of the Bureau of the Budget.
