Sec. 706. Section 3554 of title 39, United States Code, is amended to read as follows: “§ 3554. Compensation of certain temporary employees “Temporary employees hired for a continuous period of one year or less for a position in the postal field service shall be paid basic compensation at the entrance step of the position to which they are appointed.”.
