Transfer from other courts
§ 11–1552. Transfer from other courtsWhen during the pendency of a criminal or quasi-criminal charge against a person under 21 years of age, in another court, it is ascertained that the person was under the age of 18 years at the time of the alleged offense, the court shall forthwith transfer the case, together with all the papers, documents, and testimony connected therewith, to the Juvenile Court. The court making the transfer shall order the minor to be taken forthwith to the place of detention designated by the Juvenile Court or to that court itself, or release the minor to the custody of a suitable person to appear before the Juvenile Court at a time designated. The Juvenile Court shall thereupon proceed to hear and dispose of the ease in the same manner us if it had been instituted in that court in the first instance.
