§ 11–1523. Director of Social Work; compensation; qualifications; duties (a) The Juvenile Court shall appoint, from the eligible list of the Civil Service Commission, a Director of Social Work, and shall fix his compensation in accordance with the Classification Act of 1949, as amended. The Director must have the qualifications prescribed by the Civil Service Commission pursuant to the Classification Act of 1949, as amended. (b) Under the administrative direction of the chief judge, the Director of Social Work shall: (1) have charge of all the social work of the court; and (2) in association with other social agencies of the District of Columbia, study sources and causes of delinquency and assist in developing and correlating community-wide plans for the prevention and treatment or delinquency.
