§ 11–1503. Administration of court; absence, disability, disqualification, or death of judges (a) The chief judge of the Juvenile Court shall be responsible for the administration of the court. During the temporary absence or disability of the chief judge, the associate judge of the court designated by the chief judge or acting chief judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia shall be responsible for the administration of the court. (b) Except as provided by subsection (a) of this section, when a judge of the Juvenile Court dies, or is absent, ill, or disabled to serve in any case, the chief judge or acting chief judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia shall designate one of the judges of the District of Columbia Court of General Sessions to 77 Stat. 497serve as a judge of the Juvenile Court until the vacancy is filled or until the removal of such disability, and the return of the regular judge of that court.
