§ 13–702. Jury trials in civil cases in Court of General SessionsWhen the amount in controversy in a civil action pending in the District of Columbia Court of General Sessions exceeds $20, and in all actions for the recovery of possession of real property, either party shall be entitled to a trial by jury, if he demands it in the manner provided by rules of the court,. In such a case tried by jury, the trial judge shall conduct the jury trial and according to the practice and procedure in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and has the same power to instruct juries, set aside verdicts, arrest judgments, and grant new trials as judges of that court.
