discontinued service benefits Sec. 234. (a) Any participant who separates from the Agency after having performed not less than five years of service with the Agency, may, upon separation from the Agency or at any time prior to becoming eligible for an annuity, elect to have his contributions to the fund returned to him in accordance with the provisions of section 241, or (except in cases where the Director determines that separation was 78 Stat. 1049based in whole or in part on the ground of disloyalty to the United States) to leave his contributions in the fund and receive an annuity, computed as prescribed in section 221, commencing at the age of sixty-two years. (b) If a participant who has qualified in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (a) of this section to receive a deferred annuity commencing at the age of sixty-two dies before reaching the age of sixty-two his contributions to the fund, with interest, shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of sections 241 and 281.
