§ 19–316. Share of illegitimate children; their issue; mother The illegitimate children of a female and the issue of illegitimate children of a female are capable to take real and personal estate by inheritance from their mother, or from each other, or from the descendants of each other, as the case may be, in like manner as if born in lawful wedlock. When an illegitimate child of a female dies leaving no descendants, or brothers or sisters, or descendants of brothers or sisters, the mother of the illegitimate child is entitled to the real and personal estate of the illegitimate child, and if the mother is dead, the heirs or distributees of the mother share hi like manner as if the illegitimate child had been born in lawful wedlock.
