§ 20–706. Exceptions to inventoryThere shall be excepted from the inventory the wearing apparel of the deceased, family pictures, the family Bible, and schoolbooks used in the family, and provisions for the support of the family, on hand at the time or the decedent’s death. Where the decedent was the head of a family, or a householder, the property exempt under sections 15–501 to 15–503 shall so continue exempt from all claims against the decedent, and shall be distributed by the court to such members of the family or household as in the judgment of the court the exigencies of the particular case require.
