SEC. 202. AMOUNTS FOR BASIC RESEARCH AND EXPLORATORY DEVELOPMENT. (a) Fiscal Year 1992.—Of the amounts authorized to be appropriated by section 201, $4,179,933,000 shall be available for basic research and exploratory development projects. (b) Basic Research and Exploratory Development Defined.—For purposes of this section, the term “basic research and exploratory development” means work funded in program elements for defense research and development under Department of Defense category 6.1 or 6.2.
