§ 5361. Scientific and professional positions Subject to the approval of the Civil Service Commission, the head of the agency concerned shall fix the annual rate of basic pay for scientific and professional positions established under section 3104 of this title at not less than the minimum rate for GS–16 nor more than the maximum rate for GS–18.
