§ 6102. Eight-hour day; 40-hour workweek; wage-board employees The regular hours of work for an employee whose basic rate of pay is fixed and adjusted from time to time in accordance with prevailing rates by a wage board or similar administrative authority serving the same purpose are established at not more than 8 a day or 40 a week. However, work in excess of these hours is permitted when administratively determined to be in the public interest.
