Atlantic-Pacific Interoceanic Canal Study Commission salaries and expenses For expenses necessary for an investigation and study, including surveys, to determine the feasibility of, and the most suitable site for construction of a sea-level canal connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans: not to exceed $1,000 for official reception and representation expenses, $4,000,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That the unobligated balances of appropriations to the Interoceanic Canal Commission for “Salaries and expenses,” shall be merged with this appropriation.
