amendment to definition of medical assistance for the aged Sec. 222. (a) Section 6 (b) of the Social Security Act is amended by striking out “who are not recipients of old-age assistance” and inserting in lieu thereof “who are not recipients of old-age assistance (except, for any month, for recipients of old-age assistance who are admitted to or discharged from a medical institution during such month)”. (b) Section 1605(b) of such Act is amended by striking out “who are not. recipients of aid to the aged, blind, or disabled” and inserting in lieu thereof “who are not recipients of aid to the aged, blind, or disabled (except, for any month, for recipients of aid to the aged, blind, or disabled who are admitted to or discharged from a medical institution during such month)”. (c) The amendments made by this section shall apply in the case of expenditures under a State plan approved under title I or XVI of the Social Security Act with respect to care and services provided under such plan after June 1965.
