WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA TRANSIT AUTHORITY Federal Contribution To enable the Department of Transportation to pay the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, as part of the Federal contribution toward expenses necessary to design, engineer, construct, 83 Stat. 462 and equip a rail rapid transit system, as authorized by the National Capital Transportation Act of 1965, as amended (79 Stat. 663; 80 Stat. 1352; 81 Stat. 670), including acquisition of rights-of-way, land and interests therein, $43,173,000 to remain available until expended.
