director and deputy director of service Sec. 304. The Board of Trustees shall appoint a Director and Deputy Director of the Service, each of whom shall serve at the pleasure of the Board. The Director shall be responsible for the supervision of the work of the Service and shall perform such other duties as the Board of Trustees may prescribe. The Deputy Director shall assist, the Director and shall perform such duties as he may prescribe. The Director and Deputy Director shall be members of the bar of the District of Columbia. The Board of Trustees shall fix the compensation to be paid to the Director and the Deputy Director without regard to chapter 51 and subchapter III of chapter 53 of title 5 of the United States Code, but compensation for the Director shall not exceed the rate prescribed for GS–18 of the General Schedule and compensation for the Deputy Director shall not exceed the maximum rate prescribed for GS–1T of the General Schedule.
