calling of witnesses selected by the minority at committee hearings Sec. 114. (a) Section 133A of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946, as enacted and amended by section 111 (a), 112(a), and 113(a) of this Act, is further amended by adding at the end thereof the following new subsection: “(e) Whenever any hearing is conducted by any such committee of the Senate (except the Committee on Appropriations) upon any measure or matter, the minority on the committee shall be entitled, upon request made by a majority of the minority members to the chairman before the completion of such hearing, to call witnesses selected by the minority to testify with respect to the measure or matter during at least one day of hearing thereon.”. (b) Clause 27 (f) of Rule XI of the Rules of the House of Representatives, as amended by section 111(b), 112(b), and 113(b) of this Act, is further amended by adding at the end thereof the following new subparagraph: “(4) Whenever any hearing is conducted by any committee upon any measure or matter, the minority party members on the committee shall be entitled, upon request to the chairman by a majority of those minority party members before the completion of such hearing, to call witnesses selected by the minority to testify with respect to that measure or matter during at least one day of hearing thereon.”.
