SEC. 6057. COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY TECHNOLOGY. (a) Study.— The Secretary shall conduct a study to evaluate technology which is designed for installation on a commercial motor vehicle to provide the individual operating the vehicle with a warning if a turn, lane change, or other intended movement of the vehicle by the operator will place the vehicle in the path of an adjacent object or vehicle. (b) Report.— Not later than 2 years after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary shall transmit to the Committee on Public Works and Transportation of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Environment and Public Works of the Senate a report containing findings and recommendations concerning the study conducted under this section.
