BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR QUARTERS FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS OF RESERVE COMPONENTS WITHOUT DEPENDENTS
SEC. 310A. BASIC ALLOWANCE FOR QUARTERS FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS OF RESERVE COMPONENTS WITHOUT DEPENDENTS (a) In General.— A member of a reserve component of the uniformed services without dependents who is called or ordered to active duty in connection with Operation Desert Storm shall be entitled to a basic allowance for quarters under section 403 of title 37, United States Code, if, because of the call or order, the member is unable to continue to occupy a residence— (1) which is maintained as the primary residence of the member at the time of the call or order; and (2) which is owned by the member or for which the member is responsible for rental payments. (b) Period of Applicability.— Subsection (a) shall apply during the period beginning on August 2, 1990, and ending on the first day of the first month beginning on or after the date 180 days after the end of the Persian Gulf conflict.
