Drug Enforcement Administration salaries and expenses For necessary expenses of the Drug Enforcement Administration, including Eire of passenger motor vehicles; payment in advance for special tests and studies by contract; not to exceed $70,000 to meet unforeseen emergencies of a confidential character, to be expended under the direction of the Attorney General, and to lie accounted for solely on his certificate,; purchase of not to exceed 344 passenger motor vehicles (of which 210 are for replacement only) for police-type use without regard to the general purchase price limitation for the current fiscal year; payment of rewards; payment for publication of technical and informational material in professional and trade journals; purchase of chemicals, apparatus, and scientific equipment; payment for necessary accommodations in the District of Columbia for conferences and training activities; lease, maintenance, and operation of aircraft; employment of aliens by contract for services abroad; research related to enforcement and drug control; $107,230,000, of which not to exceed $4,500,000 for such research shall remain available until expended.
