(a) (1) Section 2(a) of the Act of September 30, 1950 (Public Law 874, Eighty-first Congress) is amended by striking out “July 1, 1973” and inserting in lieu thereof “July 1, 1978”. (2) Section 4(a) of such Act is amended, in that part thereof which precedes clause (1), by striking out “July 1, 1973” and inserting in lieu thereof “July 1, 1978”. (3) Section 7(a) of such Act is amended— (A) in clause (1)(A), by striking out “July 1, 1973,” and inserting in lieu thereof “July 1, 1978,”; and (B) in clause (1)(B), by inserting after “seriously damaged” the following: “prior to July 1, 1978”. (b) The amendments made by this section shall be effective on and after July 1, 1973.
