furnishing information Sec. 512. (a) Fart C of the General Education Provisions Act is further amended by adding at the end thereof the following new section: “responsibility of states to furnish information “Sec. 437. (a) The Commissioner shall require that each State submit to him, within sixty days after the end of any fiscal year, a report on the uses of Federal funds in that State under any applicable program for which the State is responsible for administration. Such report shall— “(1) list all grants and contracts made under such program to the local educational agencies and other public and private agencies and institutions within such State during such year; “(2) include the total amount of funds available to the State under each such program for such fiscal year and specify from which appropriation Act or Acts these funds were available; “(3) with respect to the second preceding fiscal year, include a compilation of reports from local educational agencies and other public and private agencies and institutions within such State which sets forth the amount of such Federal funds received by each such agency and the purposes for which such funds were expended; “(4) with respect to such second preceding fiscal year, include a statistical report on the individuals served or affected by programs, projects, or activities assisted with such Federal funds; and “(5) be made readily available by the State to local educational agencies and other public and private agencies and institutions within the State, and to the public. “(b) On or before October 15 of each year, the Commissioner shall submit to the Committee on Labor and Public Welfare of the Senate and to the Committee on Education and Labor of the House of Representatives an analysis of these reports and a compilation of statistical data derived therefrom.”. (b) The amendment made by subsection (a) shall be effective upon enactment of this Act.
